What Does Yahuah Mean? Understanding the Sacred Name

More Than a Name — A Declaration

When you see the word Yahuah on a TimeReproofPortraits (TRP) garment, you're not just reading a word. You're encountering a name — the most sacred name in all of Scripture. A name that has been hidden, mistranslated, and forgotten by many — but is now being restored.

At TRP, every design carries weight, intention, and a message rooted in truth. So let's explore what Yahuah actually means — and why it matters.

The Hebrew Root of the Name

The name Yahuah (יהוה) comes from the four Hebrew letters Yod, Hey, Vav, Hey — known as the Tetragrammaton. This is the personal, covenant name of the Creator as revealed throughout the Hebrew Scriptures (what many call the Old Testament).

The root of the name connects to the Hebrew verb hayah (הָיָה), meaning "to be" or "to exist." This is why, when Moses asked the Creator His name at the burning bush, the answer was: "I AM THAT I AM" (Exodus 3:14). The name Yahuah is the living expression of eternal, self-existent being.

Why "Yahuah" and Not "Yahweh" or "Jehovah"?

Many people are familiar with the names Yahweh or Jehovah — both are attempts to render the Tetragrammaton into English. However, scholars and Hebrew language researchers have increasingly pointed to Yahuah as a more accurate phonetic rendering of the original Hebrew pronunciation.

The name Jehovah is a relatively modern construction, blending the consonants of the Tetragrammaton with the vowels of Adonai (meaning "Lord") — a substitution that began in Jewish tradition to avoid speaking the sacred name aloud. Yahweh is closer, but still reflects certain translational assumptions.

Yahuah honors the Hebrew letters as they were written and spoken in ancient times — and that matters deeply to US at TRP.

Why Hebrews Wear the Name

In a world that has largely replaced the Creator's personal name with titles like "God" or "Lord," wearing Yahuah is an act of restoration. It's a statement that says: I know His name. I honor His name. I am not ashamed of His name.

Our designs featuring the sacred name are not fashion statements — they are faith statements. They invite conversation, spark curiosity, and open doors to share truth with others. When someone asks, "What does that say?" — that's your moment.

The Name in Our Collections

You'll find the name Yahuah woven into many signature pieces — from Hebrew script apparel to sneaker designs. Each one is crafted with the intention that the wearer understands what they carry.

TRP encourages every customer to not just wear the name, but to know the name. Study it. Speak it. Share it.
