Collection: The Qadosh Remnant
Ancient Identity for the Modern Sojourner
These designs present a striking visual synthesis of ancient Hebrew identity and a modern, "otherworldly" aesthetic. From a Hebrew perspective, the core theme is the concept of being Qadosh—sacred, distinct, and fundamentally separated for a divine purpose.
1. The Concept of "Set-Apart" (Qadosh)
In Hebrew, the word for holy is Qodesh (קֹדֶשׁ), which literally means "separateness" or "set-apartness." This series highlights the biblical mandate for the people of Israel to be a "set-apart" nation. The use of the alien motif serves as a modern metaphor for the "stranger in a strange land" (Ger), emphasizing that a person of faith may reside in this world but is not of its spiritual frequency.
2. The Paleo-Hebrew Tetragrammaton
The outer ring features the Tetragrammaton (יהוה) written in Paleo-Hebrew script.
- Symbolism: Using the ancient script connects the modern believer to the "Ancient of Days."
- The Seal: Placing the Name in a circular border suggests a "Seal of Protection," surrounding the individual with the identity and authority of the Creator.
3. The Scriptural Foundation: Jeremiah 17:7-8
The background repetition of "I AM BLESSED" alongside the citation of Jeremiah 17:7-8 provides the theological weight for the series:
"Blessed is the man who trusts in יהוה, and whose hope יהוה is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters..."
By embedding this text, the design suggests that "Set-Apart" status isn't just about being different; it is about being rooted in a specific source of life that keeps one green and fruitful even in a "desert" environment.
4. The Spectrum of Ruach (Spirit)
The variation in colors (Blue, Gold, Purple, Green) can be interpreted as the different "colors" or manifestations of the Ruach (Spirit).
- Blue/Purple: Often associated with royalty and the Tekhelet (the biblical blue thread).
- Gold: Representing the refining fire and the glory (Kavod) of the Almighty.
- Green: Representing the "Tree of Life" imagery found in the Jeremiah passage.
